Marion Road Christian Church of Rochester, MN, is seeking to add a Worship and Discipleship Minister to our staff, with responsibilities split roughly equally between the two areas. We are a growing, family-oriented congregation of 200+ in a beautiful seven-year-old facility that is completely paid for, in a community that is frequently listed as one of the best places to live in America. We have recently begun a capital campaign to expand our building to provide more space for our youth and children’s ministries.
Our worship is a blended format, intended to direct our multi-generational congregation before the throne of Almighty God, to give Him the praise and honor and glory He deserves, to bring Him our prayers and confessions and offerings, and to hear and respond to His word as it is proclaimed. Worship responsibilities will include recruiting and training volunteers, and planning, organizing, and helping lead regular and special worship services. This person will need excellent musical skills, a strong biblical foundation and theology of worship, and the ability to work well with a variety of people, as a humble, servant leader.
Our discipleship program involves a variety of classes, groups, and events that complement one another, designed to meet people where they are and help them grow in spiritual maturity. Discipleship responsibilities will include finding and writing curriculum for small groups and discipleship education, recruiting and training volunteers and leaders, and building and implementing strategies and programs to move attendees from uncommitted visitors to active, multiplying disciples. This individual would also work with the church staff to help provide pastoral care, counseling, and prayer support for our congregation. He or she will need strong organizational, teaching, communication, theological, and personal skills, with a heart for service and guiding people to become deeper disciples of our Lord.
