Cross Creek Church is excited to announce that we are prayerfully seeking God’s choice for our next minister. We believe God is the one who calls pastors to shepherd His people. Cross Creek Church is inviting candidates who are God-fearing, demonstrate an enthusiastic love of Christ, possess and apply a comprehensive knowledge of the Bible, and share a desire to see the vision of Cross Creek thrive to consider applying. We are located in Jamestown, Kentucky and currently have an active membership of committed individuals that are waiting to serve alongside the right God chosen individual.
Listed below is an abbreviated list of responsibilities and qualifications for the minister of our congregation. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Plan, prepare and deliver sermons and serve as the lead in the observation of special services (invitation, baptism and communion etc). Our congregation observes weekly communion.
- Lead the evangelical growth and effectiveness of the church beyond the walls of the physical building.
- Establish a community presence with engagement activities and programs.
- Inspire and motivate members to operate in a spirit of excellence while using their gifts and talents for God and the betterment of the church.
- Provide pastoral counseling, perform wedding/funerals as needed or called upon, visit and offer prayer for the sick and shut-ins as needed.
- Work alongside the Leadership Board and church ministry teams to elevate the effectiveness of Cross Creek Church.
Candidate qualifications include but not limited to:
- Possess and exhibit Godly character and Christian conduct.
- Must be a (or will be) ordained with preference given to one holding a Christian degree from a Restoration, accredited seminary or university.
- Possess a solid understanding of the Christian doctrine and theology.
- Must be an effective communicator.
- Must have a background check.
- Must have church administration and organizational skills.
- Must have an articulate mission for the church that emphasizes spiritual growth and development.
- Commit to church membership growth/retention.
- Demonstrate community engagement.
A salary and benefits package will be negotiated on determining the candidate’s education and experience. The combined package will include health insurance concerns, possible housing allowance and monthly salary. The new minister should be expected to receive a combined offer of these benefits that range from $30,000.00 - $50,000.00, initially based on experiences and education.
