Position Summary:
This position will provide spiritual, musical, and leadership oversight for the worship ministry of our church. This individual works collaboratively with our Senior Minister and worship ministry volunteers to plan and lead authentic, Christ-centered worship services that encourage congregational participation and result in developing a healthy, spiritually meaningful worship ministry.
We would love to partner with a Bible college student and develop a relationship with them as our part-time Worship Leader. Then when they graduate, we will consider bringing them on as our full-time Worship Leader.
Reports To: Senior Minister
Primary Responsibilities:
Worship Planning & Leadership
- Plan and lead weekly worship services in coordination with the Senior Minister.
- Select biblically sound songs and worship elements that align with sermon themes and church values.
- Lead congregational worship through singing, prayer, scripture reading, and other worship elements as appropriate.
- Introduce new songs and maintain a balanced repertoire of worship music.
Volunteer Development
- Recruit, train, schedule, and encourage worship team members and musicians.
- Foster spiritual growth, unity, and excellence among worship ministry volunteers.
- Conduct regular rehearsals and provide musical direction.
Ministry Administration
- Create and distribute worship schedules, song lists, and rehearsal materials.
- Maintain worship ministry resources, equipment, and music library.
- Participate in staff meetings as requested.
Spiritual Leadership
- Demonstrate a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Serve as a positive spiritual role model for the congregation and worship team.
- Support the church's mission, doctrine, and leadership.
Qualifications:
- A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and a lifestyle consistent with biblical principles.
- Experience leading worship in a church setting.
- Proficiency in singing and leading worship from an instrument (guitar, piano, or equivalent).
- Ability to work effectively with volunteers of varying skill levels.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Familiarity with worship planning software and presentation tools is preferred.
Schedule:
- Approximately 10–15 hours per week.
- Includes weekly rehearsals, Sunday worship services, worship planning, and ministry coordination.
Compensation:
- Compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications.
