The Worship Pastor leads people, environments, systems, and processes that contribute to the church’s overall mission of “guiding everyday people into a Christ-following family.”
Worship Responsibilities
- Oversee the planning, designing, and producing of adult worship services. In coordination with our Teaching Team, dream, develop, and pursue creative strategies to engage worshipers in our community.
- Lead in the development of creative content to be used in worship services and other special events. This may include video, visual, musical, and staging elements needed to enhance the worship gathering.
- Recruit, train, equip, and shepherd musicians, vocalists, and technicians who serve within the worship ministry while also serving as a disciple-maker among these volunteers. Cast vision and develop leaders within our worship philosophy.
- Foster environments for spiritual practices - develop corporate worship environments like prayer, confession, bible reading, silence, etc., and resource congregants with tools for spiritual practice.
- Lead the creative use and proactive upkeep of technical equipment used throughout all ministries.
- Provide support and leadership as needed in the production of church events outside of regular services, such as nights of worship, student gatherings, mission trips, etc.
- Coordinate with the Communications Director on the technical aspects of our digital ministry.
- Maintain music resources, instruments, and technology, and manage the worship ministry budget.
- Function as a member of the pastoral staff by teaching, performing baptisms, weddings, hospital calls, funerals, etc., as needed and appropriate.
Pastoral Responsibilities
- Invest relationally with artists to deepen their discipleship journey with Jesus.
- Develop groups and strategies to reach people online.
- Provide pastoral support to the congregation and worship team members through prayer, spiritual counsel, and visitations.
Success Indicators for the Worship Pastor
- Our worship is God-focused and urges our congregation to encounter God on a daily basis.
- Uses worship traditions and creative approaches to engage multiple generations.
- Individuals are growing in their faith and worship leadership, while our church is consistently growing in their engagement with spiritual practices.
